Dr. Chew has been proudly serving patients in the Tri- Valley area since 1985. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Southern Alameda County Dental Society.
Dr. Steve Chew was born and raised in Northern California. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from the University of California, Davis in 1981 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1985. Beginning as an undergraduate student at UC Davis, Dr. Chew has provided dental services in many parts of the world including California's Central Valley, Israel, the Philippines, and Korea. Most recently Dr. Chew and his family provided dental services to the indigenous peoples of Belize and Guatemala
Dr. Chew is active in the community, conducting dental programs in area schools, providing career seminars, and providing screening examinations for Alameda County. Dr. Chew lives in Pleasanton, California with his wife Kimberly and three children, Stephanie, Michael, and Lauren. He can often be seen running or cycling through town and come winter he is an avid skier.
Dr. Carrie Tran is a graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, and earned a BS in Psychobiology with a minor in Human Development from the University of California, Davis.
She has enjoyed volunteering with the Dental Mission to Punta Gorda, Belize with Dr. Chew. She has also volunteered to promote dental health awareness in grade school classrooms, health fairs, and “Project Homeless Connect.” Dr. Tran enjoys traveling and baking tasty treats.
Kim has been working in dental administration for over twenty years. She graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Actuarial Science and Finance. She is married to Dr. Chew and they have two daughters and one son. Kim enjoys volunteering in the community and also serves as a City of Pleasanton Youth Commissioner. In her spare time she scrapbooks, travels, mentors young moms and teaches cooking classes.
Kim started her career in the health profession in 2012 with Dr. Chew, although she helped with office duties at our office while she was in high school. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves her new role as a mom to her little boy! She is happy to have the opportunity to enhance patient's dental experiences and create an environment where the patient is at the center. She finds satisfaction in being part of an industry where people are helping people.
Amy has been with Dr. Chew for ten years and in the dental field for twenty-four years. She spent the first nine years as a dental assistant and the remainder has been spend as a hygienist. She is married and has one beautiful daughter. Amy enjoys playing with her daughter and tapping into her creative side with bead work. Amy loves helping people stay healthy and educated on how to care for their mouths. She finds satisfaction and happiness in forming good relationships with her patients.
Carol has been in the dental field for thirty-eight years and with Dr. Chew fourteen years. She enjoys traveling, gardening and exercising. Over the years she has loved watching her family grow and enjoy all of life's benefits. Carol has used her passion for dentistry to formulate a curriculum that she presents to various schools within the community. She has been published in the American Dental Hygiene Journal called Access and was recognized in the November 2013 issue of RDH Magazine. She enjoys working with Dr. Chew and staff to support patient's dental needs.
Melinda graduated from Chabot College Dental Hygiene Program in 1996 and has been serving the Tri-Valley's dental needs every since. She has been part of Dr. Chew's team since 2007. Melinda has been married to her husband for almost twenty years and together they continue to raise their two sons and daughter. She also has two dogs, two cats and several fish! Melinda loves getting to know the patients she works with and easing any dental fears they may have. She aims to make their visit as pleasant as possible. She has a passion for educating patients and finding ways to improve their dental health which ultimately improves their overall well-being.
Rosie stared working in the dental field in 2011 with experience in both orthodontics and general dentistry. Dental is Rosie’s passion, and helping people brings her joy. She is currently finishing her prerequisites for a dental hygiene program.
Rosie grew up in Redding, CA and absolutely loves everything about the outdoors. Outside the office she loves snowboarding, hiking, working out; if it is outdoors or gets her blood pumping, she’ll probably love it.
